Modern tools for the modern surveyor
Moonlight Drafting has built a review tool for surveyors and survey drafters. Our tool will be like a second set of eyes checking drawings for common mistakes and basic 5J-17 compliance. The tool is in its trial beta phase and we look forward to any feedback users might have to help us make this tool better and make the surveys being made in Florida a step above the rest of the country. If you haven't been invited to trial this tool, please reach out to us. This product trial is being performed to try and optimize the tool we've built, so the more the merrier!

Moonlight Reviewer is a professional document analysis tool operated by Moonlight Drafting, a Florida-based surveying and mapping services company. This service is provided exclusively to credentialed access holders under the Florida surveying and mapping professional framework.
When you enter your access key, it is immediately converted to a one-way cryptographic hash. The plaintext key is discarded. The hash is compared against a stored set of valid hashes and used to generate a random session token. We never store your access key in readable form.
A randomly generated token is placed in an encrypted browser cookie lasting up to seven days. It is held in server memory only and destroyed when the server restarts or redeploys.
PDF files you upload are held in server memory for the duration of your session. They are not written to disk, not indexed, and not retained after the server process ends.
Text and analysis extracted from your documents is held in server memory alongside the source document and subject to the same retention rules.
All data is stored exclusively in volatile server memory (RAM) on cloud infrastructure hosted in the United States. There is no database. There is no disk storage. There are no log files. There are no backups. A server restart, redeploy, or crash permanently destroys all session data, uploaded documents, and derived content. Nothing you upload persists between deployments.
Moonlight Reviewer's core function is regulatory compliance analysis of Florida survey and title documents against Chapter 472 F.S., Rule 5J-17 F.A.C., Chapter 177 F.S., and the ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey standards. This requires reading, interpreting, and reasoning about dense professional documents — tasks that require the capability of a large language model.
Anthropic provides Claude, the language model used in this pipeline. However, Claude accessed through any general-purpose interface — including Anthropic's own consumer products — has no knowledge of Florida surveying statutes, no document classification capability for the fourteen survey document types recognized by Florida law, and no mechanism for COGO traverse calculations or legal description closure analysis. A user asking any general AI tool to review a boundary survey for 5J-17 compliance would receive a general summary with no enforceable standard applied and no way to know what was missed.
Moonlight Reviewer wraps Claude's language reasoning within a purpose-built analytical pipeline developed by a licensed Florida Professional Surveyor and Mapper. That pipeline — including its document classification logic, regulatory checklist architecture, zone detection system, and COGO engine — is entirely proprietary to Moonlight Drafting and does not exist in any off-the-shelf product. Anthropic is the language reasoning layer within that larger system, not the system itself.
Uploaded document content — rendered page images and extracted text — is transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic's data handling practices are governed by their privacy policy at anthropic.com. We do not control how Anthropic processes API inputs. No other external data transfer occurs.
We do not collect your name, email address, physical address, payment information, IP address, device identifiers, or any other personal identifying information. We do not use cookies for tracking or analytics. We do not use third-party analytics services or advertising networks. There is no account system and no user profile.
In the event of unauthorized access to server memory or session data, we will notify affected access holders and, where applicable, the Florida Department of Legal Affairs, consistent with the Florida Information Protection Act (Fla. Stat. § 501.171). Given that no persistent storage exists, the scope of any breach is inherently limited to the active server process at the time of the incident.
Documents you upload may contain sensitive professional, legal, or property information. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any document for analysis. By uploading a document, you acknowledge that its contents will be transmitted to Anthropic as described in Section 4.
This service is intended exclusively for licensed professionals and credentialed adult users. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.

Moonlight Drafting is a Florida-based company founded by surveyors and and drafters that have decades of experience in the trade and a varied background in surveying, construction and even computer programming. This unique skillset is what has led them to creating this tool. A Florida made review tool that focuses on FLorida survey requriements.
Our software division builds a wide array of automation tools for the Florida surveying profession. Everything from RAG-based internal search systems to customized AutoLISP and advanced excel workflows. All tools are built and tested against real Florida survey deliverables by people who produce survey deliverables.
Moonlight's approach is simple: surveying knowledge first, technology second. Every feature that ships has been validated against actual Florida statutory requirements and real field practice. The goal is tools that a licensed PSM would trust, not tools that merely appear to work. Although Moonlight can not offer any sort of rigid opinion on anything it processes, it can summarize to the best of its ability what is on the survey and how all the supporting docs relate to the survey
